I remember getting my first box of 64 crayola crayons. Add a big fat coloring book, and I was a very happy little girl...but God help the kid who broke one of my crayons! LOL
Crayola Crayons. I only got the small box as a child. Grandma couldn't afford the 64 crayon box. Oh how I wanted the big box. Bought it for myself when I had kids and wouldn't let them touch it! And yes, I still love to color.

Remember This, Childhood Memories, Red Color, 60S, Baby Boomer, Monkey Blood
This was called "monkey blood" in the 60s. It was a mixture of iodine and mercury. It got pulled off the market once they found out how dangerous mercury was. But most of us who graduated before 1975 remember having these red spots where it was put on cuts.
We put this crap on our boo boos when I was a kiddo, it stained our skin a bright pink red color!! MONKEY BLOOD...LOL
Remember this? my papaw always called it monkey blood. they say they quit making it because it could cause tumors and cancer
The bright red color made me think my cut was even worse than it was. And it stung, too! We called this Monkey blood as kids
I remember this! Long before Neo Sporin! It always burned my cuts and scrapes and Mom had to blow on the "boo boo" as she applied it.
Remember this? Monkey blood, merthiolate, whatever you called it - it was the medicine from hell.
Remember this? Used to put on 'boo-boo's' I heard it called monkey blood
Remember this? Every medicine cabinet used to have one.
