Reading group or intervention game! A fun idea would be to roll the die and begin a made-up story, each person that rolls tells the next part. 1. Roll all first. Write down your numbers. 2. Begin the story in numerical order. It does not matter how many play, just so there are 2, even if one is teacher or babysitter. Lots of fun in store! MamaPat

ANOTHER WAY TO DO VOCAB vocabulary foldable-definition, part of speech, synonym, antonym, sentence, illustration... Post includes tons of ideas for foldables.

This would foster students to become engaged readers, as it provides them tips to think about while reading, and to help them stay on task and focused with reading. This semester we have talked a lot about being self monitors and re-reading, so this poster correlates perfectly.

This poster would be great to teach students about summarizing, as the NYS ELA Common core standards indicate : 4.RL.2 and 5.RL.2 asks students to summarize a text they have read. This poster can be a reference tool when students start summary writing.

Strategies for Good Readers. I like these much better than what I currently use. Maybe give these to students to keep in their Book Luggage to remind them of their Reading CAFE Goals

Reading Strategies FOLDABLE- could be done as a checklist (for when they have an understanding of the concept) in their binder/notebook.
