Audrey Hepburn studied ballet at Arnhem Conservatory in Holland during the war (1939-45). She danced secretly for groups raising money for the Dutch resistance. She said that the best audience she ever had "made not a single sound at the end of my performances." After lessons with Sophia Gaskell in Amsterdam, Audrey moved to London and studied with Marie Rambert - who thought she'd have a great career if not for her height (5' 7") and poor nutrition during the years of hunger in occupied Holland...she left ballet to try acting...the rest is film history! Maybe because they want to report something they feel others can more commonly relate to or understand? Maybe because they just have the wrong information?
Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer married on September 25, 1954 after starring together on Broadway in Ondine. She wore a typically full-skirted 50's ballerina-length style by Pierre Balmain with roses in her hair.
