Paint chip contractions- what a great idea! I'm always looking for fun things to do with free paint chips, and the automatic color-coding must dramatically aid in memorization.

Such a simple idea for Greek and Latin Roots!!! Posting the root word wheel outside of my door, it acts as a “Password” as my 5th graders enter into my classroom. Each morning, students lead a simple, 3-5 minute activity working with our root - recording it, listing it, picturing it, chanting it, and teaching it.

Contraction kites. This would be a great activity to do in class. Do one as an example, then assign a contraction to each student. Once they've finished, hang them in the hall or around the wall.

I would use these in my classroom after teaching contractions. I would divide students into groups and have each group create different contraction kites, then have them share and hang from the ceiling as reminders!
