For our book clubs, the students will be reading either Glory Be by Augusta Scattergood and The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Christopher Paul Curtis. Each group will consist of no more than four students.

Bill Hudson, an Associated Press photographer whose searing images of the civil rights era documented police brutality and galvanized the public, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 77.
Civil Rights Movement of African Americans 50 years ago at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington sounded "I Have a Dream" speech, the famous black preacher Martin Luther King Jr., has become accepted as a masterpiece of oratory. August 28, 1963, King led a march of 250 thousand people to the memorial erected in honor of the president, who once abolished slavery, and uttered the words designating the decisive stage in the struggle of African-American part of the country for their rights.
