Good to know for the next power outage: 1/4" Mt Dew in bottle, add tiny bit of baking soda and 3 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide. Shake and it glows. Pour on sidewalk to "paint" .....COOL!!!

Mt.dew light.- If this does not work for you, you can send me $5.00, and I can send you information on why it does not work, and instructions to make it work.

Calm Down Jar -fill up a pint jar with water, 1 drop of blue food coloring and some glitter. whichever kid is "doing time" shake the bottle and watch it settle. Once the glitter has settled, they've had time to calm down and talk about their problem. It's quite soothing actually (grown ups , too?)

Mix 1/4 cup h2o and 3/4 cup alcohol. refrigerate for an hour. Cut each orange in half vertically so base and stem are not in the basin of the half. Gently scoop out the innards of the orange halves. Boil 1 cup h2o and mix in gelatin until fully dissolved. Add alcohol and h2o mixture to gelatin mixture. Gently pour the jello mix into orange halves. Refrigerate until the jello is very firm. With a very sharp knife, cut into slices. (dull knife can cause the jello to rupture and result in mess)

Mosquito trap - No more mosquitos!! Cut the top off a 2 liter bottle. Invert the cone and place it inside the bottle. Glue the two pieces together. Add 1 tsp yeast and 1/2 cup sugar to some luke warm water, and pour the mixture into the bottle. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide that you exhale. The yeast feeds off the sugar and emits the same gas, so the mosquito enters the bottle, thinking she will find food there. FLIES LOVE THIS!!! Have caught 1000's of flies!!
