Numero May 2008, Edita Vilkeviciute by Solve Sundsbo, Stripe shadows, yellow lipstick

  • Rene Gastaldo

Came across the photography of Solve Sundsbo today as we as a group were discussing other areas of interest. Sundsbo has done some nice stuff with the use of shadows, which look like they are projected through stencil shapes onto window light or studio strobes! The feel of these images below have a safari look to them, especially with the use of spots for cheaters and strips for Zebra's with the pale white model.

I love the idea of colored lips upon a heavily shadowed model. It adds a different feel to the overall look of the photograph. Gotta love Sølve Sundsbø!

  • Goran Kojadinovic

Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø is a big name in fashion photography. Sølve is rallying against the mediocrity of fashion photography, he complains that “anybody can use a digital camera to take a picture and alter it in photoshop”. Model: Edita Vilkevicute.

I actually kind of love this pageboy-ish cut. Sign me up as a hipster right now...Shirt's lovely, too.

Amazing curl form, great asymmetrical cut without looking flat to head. Love the short spikey crown!
