Peruvian Textiles This design highlights the bowler hats worn by Peruvian indigenous people. According to one of several explanations, a shipment of bowler hats was sent from Europe for use by Europeans who were working on the construction of the railroad. The hats were found to be too small and were distributed to locals.

I have some textiles like this from Otovalo, Ecuador. Made curtains out one... still have another.
