It is listed by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage Site "Bam and its Cultural Landscape". The origin of this enormous citadel on the Silk Road can be traced back to the Achaemenid period (6th to 4th centuries BC) and even beyond.

"A yardang in the Algerian desert. A feature caused by wind erosion. The ‘pedestal’ effect is created by wind-blown sand whose cutting force is strongest near ground level."

Just a stone tree in the desert a thousand years in the making. This rock formation is located on the Plateau of Tassili (Algeria), in the Sahara desert. The sand erosion, driven by the winds of the desert, this tree has molded stone. For thousands of years the small grains of sand have beaten the rock to get its current form.

Ruins in Palmyra, Syria | Take one last look. With ISIS on the rampage, these beautiful and ancient ruins may not last much longer. The terrorist group typically takes what it can carry away to sell on the black market to buy guns, and destroys the rest. It's horrific that ISIS is appropriating the world's treasures for violence and murder. These priceless remnants of history belong to all of us, not to a small gang of thugs who have turned them into tools for committing heinous acts.

Blue Moon Beauty 2nd full moon in onemonth - this October has two full moons the2nd moon is tonight 10/30

The term blue moon refers to the full moon that appears twice in one calendar month, it is a rare cosmic event that only happens 10 times in 18 years. This makes the blue moon a powerful wish omen. If you see a blue moon, make your wish and say, "Blue moon, blue moon true, here's my wish make it true too."

Blue Moon Beauty I love the full moon.
