Simple Science Experiment for Kids: Why are there craters on the moon

Help young children discover why there are craters on the moon with this simple science experiment--great for science fairs

What will happen if we split a flower stem into 4 parts and put them in 4 different colors?

Solar system brownies ~ between this & the cookie moon phases, we'll be eating our way through studying space!

This can be a fun activity to use for my Unit lesson plan because food almost always focuses students' attentions. The cream on the oreo can represent what moon phase looks like what, and we can discuss the moon phases in class and relate it to weather patterns (ocean currents, etc.) I did this last fall in the classroom and the kids loved it!
