Whole Class Writing Journals - Each journal has a different topic with a copy of the class list on the inside of the front cover. The students can also read the journals at a different time. Would also be a good 'I'm finished early' activity.
8 whole class journals for the students to write in. Select 8 students each week to write in one of the journals. The next week, 8 different children will be selected to write, and so on. By the time were finished, each journal should have about 25 different entries written in them. Students will be able to read what their classmates have written as well.
Your students will love interacting with Shadow. They will learn editing skills from this classroom visitor, who is writing challenged. Children love trying to find where Shadow is sleeping as they enter your room each morning. Make learning and morning work fun with this classroom character!
The Writing Process. - Having this in the classroom not only keep kids on track and know where they are up with their writing pieces but it serves a visual aid. They can always look up and see the writing process and if you have them pin themselves then they take accountability for their writing. Love it! (Even for the older grades)
