Bucket Fillers - help kids treat each other kindly and with respect- great idea!

Used the book "No David" to practice making inferences (good guesses) about what was happening. Before reading, looked at each picture, wrote down a guess and added a blurb about the picture clue they used to make it.

New Student packet. Pinner wrote, "I can grab it and say 'I thought you maybe joining us today.' instead of 'oh, we weren't expecting a new student.' It will get us off on the right foot. So much better than scrounging for stuff every time a new student arrives!

Teaching inference. I might switch this up because we have been referring to it regularly as BK + TC = I, that is, background knowledge plus text clues equals inference.

I should do this with my purse. The kids would love it.
