Sisters 1900 - the seated girl is either deceased or near death with illness. The standing sister is holding her hand up, not holding hands with her.
Beautiful style of photography. Not all Victorian photos were post mortem. Those using stands were not all post mortem either. They used that to steady subjects so as not to blur or ruin photographs. Photographs then had longer exposure times. People moved.
No one's dead here (BY NOW YEAH, in photo no)....common sense n objective observation ppl....old photo doesn't equal post mortem.
Not postmortem. This would have been considered a seductive photo in Victorian times. The Flickr article that featured this is full of misinformation.
If the girl was deceased, it would take a lot more than the other girl holding her hand to keep her from slumping over. And it looks like she's holding the other girl's hand, not the other way around.
Yeah I don't think this is a postmortem
Reliquary of the Jaw of St. Anthony, 1349. Heres a good one !
1754 felchville,VT. Very good shape for being 250 years old in Vermont weather. I wonder if this is a more recent stone.
