Tried 1 tablespoon baking soda with some drops of tea tree essential oil, then added 1 cup warm water, poured some in hair, massaged it all over scalp, left in about 1 minute, then rinsed out. Hair and scalp felt great after the first use.

"homemade shampoo: use a clear bottle. Add some castile soap. Add water to roughly equal 3-4 x the original volume (just eyeball it, then shake the whole thing up). When you start this, your hair will feel greasier than ever. That’s because your scalp is still used to being washed with engine degreaser, so it takes a little time (about a week) for it to settle down and stop producing so much oil. After an adjustment period though, it’s all good."

Homemade Coconut Shampoo Ingredients: 1/2 cup coconut milk 2/3 cup castile soap (Dr. Bronners) 40 drops essential oil (jasmine) 2 teaspoons olive oil Combine all the ingredients in an empty shampoo bottle or jar and shake. I used a funnel to pour ingredients in the empty bottle. You can keep it in the shower for one to two months. Shake well before each use.
