Cercis 'Forest Pansy' can reach heights of 10m, but if you prune it, it'll will be more shrubby and perfect for small gardens. Note that we are cheating a bit here - Forest Pansy is an eastern redbud, not the California native western redbud, but we wanted this illustration of the extraordinary seasonal changes of cercis. One difference is the purple leaves. Either redbud will have amazing colour change as the seasons progress. Cercis is listed among LA MWD's fire resistant plants.
