Traditional symbolism of the eagle, representing St. John, is here rendered in overlarge format with the image extending beyond the edges of the picture plane, speaking to the long-standing outreach ministries of the Parish. It is entirely hand-sewn from widely varying fabrics, using traditional liturgical colors; the banner is 5’ x 10’ in size, backed in cranberry cotton & tab-mounted. A coordinating processional banner was made soon after. 1979
