Terra Cotta Pot Snowmen Designed by Amanda Formaro for All Rights Reserved I was inspired to make these from a clay pot snowman project I saw on Hobby Lobby. They painted their scarves, I decided to use Mod Podge and scrapbook paper. They used clay for the noses, but my faces are all painted. These cute little snowmen would make wonderful teacher's gifts! You will need terra cotta pots acrylic paint: white, black, orange, pink scrapbook paper scissors Mod Podge or white craft glue black Sharpie marker pom poms and ribbon for earmuffs OR old glove or sock and ribbon for hat instant grab glue What you do Paint terra cotta pots white and set aside to dry. 1 Measure the rim of the terra cotta pot, then cut scrapbook paper strips in that width. Use a paintbrush to add Mod Podge or watered down white glue to the rim, then press the paper onto the rim. You will have to hold the paper in place for a minute until the glue grabs. Set aside to dry. 2 Meanwhile, make a hat by cutting the fingers off of a knit glove. 3 When the pot is dry pipe some instant grab glue around the bottom of the terra cotta pot. Pull the elastic wristband of the glove over the bottom end of the pot. Fold the wristband upward to look like the brim of a winter hat. 4 Tie a ribbon around the open end of the glove and tie in a knot, then tie a bow. 5 To make earmuffs, glue ribbon and pom poms to the pot instead. Dip a small scruffy paintbrush into pink paint and dab off the excess until the brush is just about dry. Dab on the cheeks with the dry pink brush. 6 Add nose with a liner brush and orange paint. Add the facial features with the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in black paint (dotted mouth and eyes) and a Sharpie marker (wiggly smile). Let everything dry then put a light coat of Mod Podge over the face and other white areas, taking care not to hit the hat or ear muffs.
