Matthew Belser was already taking trumpet lessons, but he wanted to try more instruments and get more time to play. He was one of the first youngsters to sign up with Scrollworks, a brand new music program that wanted to give the whole city free music instruction and a whole lot more. Today, Matthew is a promising 9th-grader at the Alabama School of Fine Arts who won first chair spots for clarinet and alto saxophone in this year's All-State Honor Band.
