Cassiopeia A, an exploded star light-years away. The green ring surrounding the supernova is from the initial shock wave generated by the explosion; it measures 10 light years in diameter. - by the Chandra X-Ray Observatory - Credit: NASA

Located some 1300 light-years away in the constellation of Carina (The Keel of the ship Argo). It is informally known as the Wishing Well Cluster, as it resembles scattered silver coins which have been dropped into a well, It was the first target to be observed by the NASA/ESA Hubble Telescope. (May 1990) The stars that with moderate masses are still shining brightly with blue-white colors, but the more massive ones have already exhausted their supplies of hydrogen becoming red giant stars.

Cat's Eye nebula in deep space

The Cat's Eye Nebula

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope imagery: The Cat's Eye Nebula, one of the first planetary nebulae discovered, also has one of the most complex forms known to this kind of nebula. Eleven rings, or shells, of gas make up the Cat's Eye.

Arp 148, aka Mayall's object, is a pair of interacting galaxies located in the constellation of Ursa Major.

Arp 148 is the staggering aftermath of an encounter between two galaxies, resulting in a ring-shaped galaxy and a long-tailed companion

Dusty Space Cloud This image shows the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy in infrared light as seen by the Herschel Space Observatory, a European Space Agency-led mission with important NASA contributions, and NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope.

The wonderfull our universe

The Eagle Has Risen: Stellar Spire in the Eagle Nebula. A billowing tower of gas and dust rises from the stellar nursery known as the Eagle Nebula. This small piece of the Eagle Nebula is 57 trillion miles long trillion km).

an hourglass nebula. The sands of time are running out for the central star of this hourglass-shaped planetary nebula. With its nuclear fuel exhausted, this closing phase of a Sun-like star's life occurs as its outer layers are ejected - its core

The onion-like rings surrounding the Cat's Eye Nebula are from 1500 year-intervals of dusty ejections from the star's long and painful death.
