In preparing a workshop, a question I frequently put to myself is: ‘what am I trying to teach?’ Which leads onto another question : ‘What do I want people to learn?’ A useful resource is a model of ‘levels of learning’ that was first formulated by Gregory Bateson (Bateson 1972, part 3). What follows is not just an account of Bateson’s model, but my own ideas about it, which take Bateson as a starting point. Let’s dive straight in.

Smart Health Talk Pick: A thought to keep in mind.. Really hits home as our radio show is on the air with complete freedom to say what we want w/o censorship. We're one of a few privately owned radio stations. Our owner, Fred Lundgren was a farmer for years. Drove his tractor to Washington DC & back for farmers rights. Can reach people all over the world & special as can say what television can't since sponsor money so big. No big money at our station, but have tried to buy out Fred many times.

“Nobody can possibly be so hungry that they need to take a life in order to feel satisfied - they don't after all, take a human life, so why take the life of an animal? Both are conscious beings with the same determination to survive. It is habit, and laziness and nothing else.” ― Morrissey, Autobiography Source:

Earth Day is April 22nd but these books work year round. They focus on real ways kids can change their habits and help the environment, on how and why we should recycle and provide cautionary tales about what could happen if we don't. Earth day books ? Yes but they are everyday books too.>> No Time for Flashcards
