The fifth day of Diwali is known as ‘Bhai dooj’ ‘Bhratri Dooj’ or ‘Bhai Bij’. Bhai means brother and dooj means second, signifying the second day of the new moon. It celebrates the loving ties between brothers and sisters and consolidates this relationship. One legend of the origin of this day is that Sri Krishna after his successful war over Narakasura went to visit his sister subhadra who welcomed him with a tilak and aarti and prayed for his protection.
A traditional Laxmi Pujan (also called Chopada (books) Pujan, Sharda Pujan) is performed after sunset by worshipping and one’s new account books to achieve the blessings of wealth and prosperity. May the Diwali lamps drive away the darkness, evil and ignorance, and invite wisdom and consciousness. Wishing you and yours a Shubh Laxmi Pujan. Happy Diwali.
Life takes on a heavenly appeal as swirls of divine aroma waft from these incense cones. The mystic aroma of Rose, Geranium, Mimosa and Bergamot invokes Shri Krishna, the icon of love, divine joy and the destroyer of pain. #gift #uniquegiftideas #diwali #incense #organic #krishna #botanical #handrolled
Dhanwantri Gayatri , Ashtotram, Mantra and Stotram - with English sub-titles - two days before Diwali, the Festival of Lights, people remember and honor him. At dusk, a lamp pointing toward North by North-East is lit at the doorstep of the house to welcome Lord Dhanvantari for health and happiness in life. This day is known as Dhanteras (or Dhanwantari Triodasi, or Dhantrayodashi).
Pure kansa or bronze thaal set are ideal for Diwali because - Kansa attracts "sukh” happiness, “samruddhi" prosperity, “shuddhi” purification and “shanti” peace into your life. Pure kansa is made by smelting copper tin and thus according to Ayurveda balances all three doshas. It does not tarnish like copper or brass. When struck the bell resonates for very long, inducing a deep meditative state of mind.
