Archeologists have uncovered a 1,600-year-old Mayan temple dedicated to the “night sun” atop a pyramid tomb in the northern Guatemalan forest near the border with Mexico. “It’s something that rises every day and penetrates into all nooks and crannies, just as royal power presumably would,” said Houston, a professor at Brown University, Rhode Island.

A friend just reminded me that although Chichen Itza is stunning - Tulum, Mexico is breathtaking for both the ruins and the setting.

perfectly located on the cliff overlooking the turquoise waters of the #CaribbeanSea. This unique and spectacular site is the only location in the world that visitors can experience the breath taking views of the sea and of these 1200 year old Mayan Ruins.
