Here is the recipe to the rainbow cake. This colorful layer cake from "Whisk Kid" blogger Kaitlin Flannery is ideal for a child's birthday party, or any time you want to make a big impression.

Rainbow Cake - Martha Stewart Recipes. 3 cups flour, 4 teaspoons, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 sticks unsalted butter, 2 and 1/3 cups sugar, 5 large eggs, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, 1 and 1/2 cups milk, and food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple gel food coloring)! *** Pretty sure this is the recipe I used for T's birthday cake last year. Pinning to re-make and check. It was delicious!

Jamie, Maybe something like this.....doesn't have to be exact...just the idea of the round cakes...maybe just two, though. With the ladybug smash cake on top. We are doing pink and green (I think you said brown instead of black on the ladybug because of taste).
