Blacktip Reef sharks, Maldive Islands - The Republic of the Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean consisting of a double chain of twenty-six atolls. A geological eccentricity nestled in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives are a series of ancient coral reefs that grew up around the sides of towering prehistoric volcanoes which have long since sunk into the ocean, leaving behind coral islands of renown natural beauty.

I love everything about this image - the arch of the shark, the soft grey on grey tones and the movement in the water.

if you ever want to see it you have to go to south africa, its the only place in the world where the great whites jump out of the water like this. nobody knows why. watch out for bbc's shark week, they always have a special about this phenomenon. and btw: you are the only girl i know that has a shark it!

Great White Shark...WOW!! I don't know whether this is simply amazing awesome or if I should be terrified...haha one thing for sure is I wouldn't want to see that if I was in near proximity of it, unless it was a pretty big boat I was in idk but it is magnificent creature of creation! I

Check out ocearch's website to see where the sharks they have gps tagged are and have been. My favorite is Mary Lee. She is a 16 foot great white tagged off cape cod. She came very close to the Jacksonville Beach shore! Here's the link. http://sharks-ocearch.verit...

we have turned sharks into monsters. i have a love for sharks and just a small fear and respect for them. they are powerful and beautiful creatures. they are not monsters!
