Mix baking soda with TBS of fabric softener and spread on mattress every one or two months. Leave on an hour and vacuum off. Kills dust mites and freshens the mattress. (Other Pinner: THIS WAS AMAZING!! I used snuggle fabric softener and our mattress smells great!!)
Over time, and with many washes, your bath towels will build up detergent and fabric softener residue, leaving them both unable to absorb as much water and smelling kinda funky when they do. Run them through the wash once with hot water and a cup of vinegar, then again with hot water and a half-cup of baking soda. That strips the residue from them, leaves them smelling fairly fresh again.
How to clean your dishwasher: ~Pull out the bottom rack and search the bottom and drain area for debris and clogs. ~Place a measuring cup full of plain white vinegar upright on the top rack, and run the dishwasher on the hottest setting. (The rest of the dishwasher should be empty.) ~Sprinkle 1 cup of baking soda around the bottom, plus some bleach if mold or mildew are a problem. Run a short, complete cycle with the hottest water.
Woolite Foam Carpet Cleaner - Sprays out in foam stream so you can spray right on grout line. Let set several minutes, brush, wipe away. Easiest way ever to clean gross grout! Hmm might try this at the new house, don't know if my grout is colored or just gross :/
Awesome Cleaning Slime 1 tablespoons of white (Elmers) glue. Add about 1 spoon full of water. Mix. Then in another cup put 2 tablespoons of borax and 2 tablespoons of water. Pour the glue solution and the borax solution together and you get slime. Add some food color to the glue first if you want a cool color. Use mold of your choice...shallow plastic container, etc. Can be re-used many times. When it gets filled with the gunk you have been cleaning, throw it out and make some more!!
