Oregon Swallowtail (Papilio Oregonius) Butterfly. Two years ago I found one of these beauties by the side of the road while I was out for a walk. It had a badly damaged left wing and couldn't fly anymore, so I took in home and laid it down in my garden, under the lettuce leaves.

Red crackers are a medium-sized brush-footed butterfly species of the genus Hamadryas. Their common name is due to the unusual way that males produce a "cracking" sound as part of their territorial displays.
