An interesting perspective on America's obesity

In 2008, medical costs associated with obesity were estimated at $147,000,000,000. 1/3 of US adults are overweight and approximately one in 5 children are obese. Obese individuals have a 50-100 percent increased risk of death from all causes, compared with normal-weight individuals (body mass index 20–25). Most of the increased risk is due to cardiovascular causes. Healthy weight not overweight, it makes a difference.
