Magic Milk Colors You need a "magic toothpick" - (which is a toothpick dipped in dish soap) Once the toothpick touches the milk the colors instantly shoot out at lightning speed creating a wake of rainbows! Try dipping the toothpick in the color first and then the milk and you’ll make rings.

Milk, food coloring, and a toothpick dipped in dish soap.

Pour whole milk, add a few drops of various colors of food coloring all around your dish. Now comes the "magic" toothpick. Dip toothpick in a little dish soap and ask your child to put it in the food coloring. The reaction of the soap disrupting the surface tension of the milk causes the colors to radiate away from the toothpick. You could try taking prints of these as well!
