Anne Frank, born in Germany 1929 - died 1945 Nazi Germany. Most renowned Jewish Holocaust victim. Persecution of the Jewish population by the Nazi's lead the family into hiding in hidden rooms of Anne's father, Otto Frank. Two years of hiding the family was betrayed and transported to Bergen concentration camp where she died of typhus at the age of 15. Her diary writings while in hiding has been published into "The Diary of a Young Girl" and released into film.

In March 1945, a typhus epidemic spread through the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. 17000 prisoners died that month, including #AnneFrank and her sister Margot. With camp records in disarray, exact dates for the deaths of the two girls were not recorded, and the camp was burned after liberation to prevent the spread of the disease. We may never know the exact date of the death of Anne Frank, but we can honor her memory. Read more on

Anne Frank - I love her and the fact that at only 13 years old, 70+ years ago, she still inspires people to be brave.

The Holocaust is such an important time to remember. Anne Frank - The diary of a young girl...still a book worth reading. Then when you're able to visit the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, you're reminded of her courage and the power of her story.

As a child reading the diary of Anne Frank helped me to understand the part of my family history that was too painful for my father to speak of to his young daughter. I am still fascinated by this book and loved sharing it with my own children. IKW

You know how you get so caught up in a well told story that you don't want it to ever end? Yeah. That was this book.

Anne of Green Gables; I had the whole series, but love wee Anne best. As a youngun, I completely and totally identified with her. Hair dyeing drama? Check. Histrionics? Check.

I have to agree, I did prefer Anne although I never thought to compare them til now. Not only was Anne a bit more feisty than Laura, even Gilbert had a bit more personality than did Almonzo.

I've actually been meaning to purchase the series and read it. I only read Anne of Green Gables as a kid.
