Meanwhile, pour the lemon juice into a spray can or a watering can with a rose and spray the affected leaves and stems on your plants. Aphids hate citrus, and will either die or disappear, leaving your plants to recover beautifully.
Martha Stewart Living, March 2002 Homemade, nonchemical spray to keep slugs and aphids away. One peeled onion, two peeled garlic cloves, and one teaspoon cayenne pepper in the jar of a blender. Add three cups of water, and blend until smooth. Let the mixture sit overnight, strain the liquid into a spray bottle, and coat plants generously.
