    When painting, wrap a rubber band around the can over the opening. Then you can dip in the brush and wipe the excess paint off onto the rubber band, rather than the edge of the can.

    Sand very well, Good primer, 4 coats of paint, 4 coats of top coat for practically indestructible table top.

    Great tip for painting: cut out the side of a gallon milk container. the bottom can hold enough paint for trim with built in handle and paint brush holder!
