In this picture, it is evident that shadows are not always what they seem. Shadows seem to distort the truth. In the novel, shadows are a prime example of how distorted truth and obscurity are symbolized.
An amazing sculptural installation by Neil Dawson. I love the massive scale of this, and the impression you get looking at it that it's like a doodle on a photograph or something generated in photoshop, until you see the additional pictures and realize that it isn't. I'm also impressed that it holds up well from multiple viewing angles; at no time does it ever really look "Flat".
