Container Magnets. Give pretty spice or candy containers a new life in seconds by turning them into refrigerator magnets. Place a small, powerful magnet inside the back of an empty tin, which makes the tin itself magnetic. (Nonmetallic containers will work if you stick an adhesive magnet on the outside.)

    in order to keep dried herbs and spices "fresher" longer, do not epose them to heat and light. while this is attractive & easy to grab, it kills your spices faster, rendering them flavorless sooner.

    See this working for those who use spices a lot....that way they don't have to worry about it going bad...also, if you have heavy handed people in your home....the spices may wind up on the floor...
