    Attention Grabbers. To get the class' attention, The teacher says a certain phrase and students have a response to say back. Ex: teacher: "Hocus Pocus" Then students say: "Everybody focus" Or, T says: "Chicka Chicka" then students say "boom, boom".

    As far as creative word choice goes, bad is bad. Help your students find just the right way to say something isn't up to snuff.

    Give me five is a great way to get students attention with out yelling. It is simple and something the students will understand. Discussing and posting this up on the wall will help the students to know what is expected of them.

    I love the idea of having all of these sayings that you and the class can share so you can get their attention because it will make getting quiet and paying attention fun for both you and them. The only problem with this may be that there are a whole lot of sayings on this list so remembering them all would be kind of hard. You can fix this by just picking a few.
