Good idea. Every January, turn all of the hangers in my closet backwards, like this. It takes about 60 seconds: Each time you wear an item, hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do. In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and donate it to Goodwill unless you can come up with a good reason to save it... What a reality check.
Great New Years Idea, Closets can be the worst culprit for junk, but if you’ve ever tried to sort through your clothes you know how hard it can be to let go. With this trick, you work backwards and let your actions make the decisions for you. ...I'm so doing this... On January 1st turn all of the hangers in your closet backwards, like this. Each time you wear an item, hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do. In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and so donate it to Goodwill or sell to Plato's closet (if in good shape and still in fashion) unless you can come up with a good reason to save it. So if an item goes unworn for 6 months its usually because its out of style, it doesn’t fit, or YOU JUST DON'T LIKE IT. Then turn all of your hangers backwards again and count down to January. Good Luck, and remember you can do it!
On January 1st, turn all your hangers backwards. As you wear clothes, turn the hanger around. Anything that is still backwards on June 1, donate.... Such a good idea!
My closet is colorcoded, with all the red hung on red hangers, the orange on orange... And they are arranged in the color of the rainbow. Each hanger is exactly 1 inch apart. :P
What a great idea....and so simple!
I'm wondering why I haven't thought of that before. What a great idea!
Since I'm moving - what a great way to start out at the new home!!
