We spent a lot of time in our barn, working and playing. It's where we held meetings of our club (no name to it), where our cats had their kittens, where we read books, climbed hay, discovered all the ways to get in and out of the hayloft...I still can smell the scent of hay and animals and the fields surrounding the barn. I can see the shafts of light streaming in just like in this picture.

Mailbox...Living twelve miles out into the country from the nearest village was all I knew growing up. Having the mailman come was always a curiosity for me. " What's in the mail today ? ! " Or, " Has the mailman come yet ? " There was rarely anything of real interest to a child or young person...so I don't know why the curiosity....:)
