Hoot Hoot I Scream. An actual structure built in 1927 on Valley Blvd in Rosemead, CA. A year later it was moved to South Gate, in hopes of more business. In 1930, it was turned into a cafe and stayed in South Gate through World War II serving factory workers. After the war, the wrecking ball reduced the Hoot-Hoot Cafe to the history pages .
Photograph, taken in 1925 of a girl visiting the grave of her twin sister who died in a house fire the year before. Parents of the girl saw her, on many occasions, talking to her sister like she was playing in her room, but no one was there, and they thought it was just part of the grieving process.
