This is from the Slut Walk. One of the arguments is that girls are "asking" for rape because they wear "slutty" clothes, short skirts, tight, low-cut tops. which brings up an incredibly important message, rape is rape. No one is ever "asking for it". Clothes do not dictate consent. No means no.

She means she wasn't wearing a tight skirt or a shirt with her breasts hanging out when she was sexually assualted. She's challenging the argument the women "ask for it" by what they choose to wear

This is from the slut walk. One of the arguments women are raped is because they ask for is by wearing quote "slutty" clothes: short skirts, low-cut tops etc. Interesting, robbery victims are not accused of provoking/causing the the thiefs to steal. Rapists don't discriminate. They do not rape because of clothing, they rape because THEY are rapists. Report rates for sexual assault range from 10-20% of acts committed. Therefore instead of teaching women don't get raped, teach men not to rape.

Ask her if it was "legitimate". The right wing and its vocabulary relating to women's rights is not just sad but scary and their decisions have long-term impacts on the lives of our young women.

"My rapist doesn't know he's a rapist. You taught him it wasn't his fault." When society constantly tells women they are to blame for being raped because of what they were wearing/drinking/doing, rapists hear that message too...and don't think they're doing anything wrong.

Why is this concept so hard for some people to grasp? But I would avoid the use of the word 'indecendy', it has too many patriarchal connotations, especially for women...
