I did this concept with my son for Father's Day and put Worlds Best Dad, not only did it come out better than I expected my son who is only 19 months did all the painting. I used my circut to have the words and then used a glue stick on the canvas (it won't hold them down firmly but enough to serve its purpose, also let it sit over night before painting), then washable kids craft paint at Walmart (it will say good for finger painting), once done I lifted up the words and we had a masterpiece!

tape out name and have the kids finger paint over it New plan: Use a canvas, have kid write her own name with pencil, adult hot glue over the name, then let her fingerpaint. Aftwards, peel off glue and erase pencil.

LOVE this idea... Would be great on wood too! Tape word on canvas - finger paint - remove tape

Put tape on canvas, let them finger paint, remove the tape. This would be so cute if you did your little one's name as the word they paint over. Great art to hang in their room!

Tape and finger paint. This could be a really great first week of school project if you pre-taped out the names.

So cute! Put tape on some canvas and let your kid fingerpaint! Remove the tape and you have a great art for their room!

Homemade finger paints...kind of a tricky recipe. You have to get the measurements JUST right or it will be too thick or too watery. Also, you have to ad a TON of food coloring. Ruby still liked it, and if you don't have any finger paint, its a cheap way to get some fast!

finger print blossoms, something both kids could do together.
