Musings of a textile itinerant

Drops Pouf by Norwegian furniture designer and interior architect Camilla Halvorsen. Inner tube wrapped in colourful ribbons of recycled textiles used for upholstery. The pouf is inspired by the art of tassel-making. via the designer's site

to create my fabric millefiori jewelry, I use 97% recycled fabrics & fibers . After fully saturating the textiles with liquid glue I roll them up. The glue hardens and protects them and when dry, I slice the roll cross-section. These very durable, vivid and intricately detailed slices become earrings, pins and pendants, which are truly FABRIC JEWELS! Because the sliced fabric is almost weightless, wearing this artwork is a pleasure!
