Paint a piece of wood whatever color your like, draw your state, hammer in nails on the line you drew, and then hammer nails in a heart shape over your city. then, take string, thread, yarn, or whatever and loop it around the nails, alternating between the border of the state and the heart. need to try this. another great gift idea.

How fun would it be to have a class work together on a piece of string art as part of a geography unit?

A little advanced for me still.. Practice!

crochet and regular sewing thread in blues and greens and purples and wrapped in a very random fashion but created a color gradient going from green/blue to purple /blue. The wrapping took about 3 hours. use different words

Pinner said and I agree.....This would be really neat over a collaged surface

this looks pretty easy. paint a piece of wood whatever color your like, draw your state, hammer in nails on the line you drew, and then hammer nails in a heart shape over your city. then, take string, thread, yarn, or whatever and loop it around the nails, alternating between the border of the state and the heart. definitely want to try this!

Love this idea with a heart where you live or where you are from

@Melissa Squires Squires Squires Squires Brown Christiansen you could design something like this :)

I love collage picture frame walls. If you look at the coloured backgrounds behind the hearts, they really give the wall a 'pop' of colour without being too obnoxious. A clever way of adding colour to a room - we can all take a page out of interior design when designing your jewelry...it's the same principles!!
