Blackrock Castle formerly Mahon Castle, is a 16th century castle located in Cork city, Ireland. In the late 16th century, the citizens of Cork appealed to Queen Elizabeth I to construct a fort at Blackrock to "repel pirates and other invaders". In or around 1600, a round tower was constructed to safeguard against pirates "carrying away" vessels entering the harbour.

Arundel Castle- There are nearly 1,000 years of history at this great castle, overlooking the River Arun in West Sussex and built at the end of the 11th century by Roger de Montgomery, Earl of Arundel. The oldest feature is the motte, an artificial mound, over 100 feet high from the dry moat, and constructed in 1068: followed by the gatehouse in 1070. Under his will, King Henry I (1068-1135) settled the Castle and lands in dower on his second wife, Adeliza of Louvain.

Onsen ~ came to love and appreciate the bathing ritual when I lived in Japan. The Japanese culture truly has the balance (well maybe not the city corporate life!!) of hard work, creating beautiful environments and stopping to relax at days end...... miss you Japan.
