Designed by Mainbocher (a popular haute couture American label at the time), this Junior Scouts outfit was mostly worn loose-fitting, except that older Scouts were encouraged to cinch the waist with a belt.
I was both a Brownie(picture on the right) and a Girl Guide. They are the Canadian equivalent of Girl Scouts. I loved going to Girl Guide camp and earning badges! I never had to wear the hat. I do remember the salute though and the Girl Guide song.
