The King Khalid of Saudi Arabia Diamond Necklace. This necklace was made by Harry Winston and was given to QEII when she made a State visit to Saudi Arabia in February, 1979. The Queen loaned it to the Princess on at least three occasions during 1982 and 1983. Diana wears it with the diamond and pearl drop earrings, a wedding present from the Emir of Qatar.
Diana only wore the "swan lake" necklace once, and it was only on loan to her by Garrard's, who had been commissioned to make a pair of matching earrings. Princess Diana borrowed the necklace hoping to own the set, but was killed before the transaction could ever be completed with Garrard's. She never wore the earrings that were made to go with the necklace.
