Madame Pompadour by Boucher. Also know as Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, Marquise de Pompadour. Official mistress of Louis XV of France.

Madame de Pompadour The chief mistress of Louis XV. She was given a title and presented to court. She was not his mistress after several years but kept her position by providing him with mistresses to sustain him and she entertained and played a major role in the politics, style and cultural support of the Louis XV's reign during her life as mistress. She died young at forty two of tuberculosis.
