Once we have called, our next step is to watch. He has never broken a promise and He is promising to show us great and mighty things we do not know. God finds joy not only in our asking but also in our anticipation that follows. Lets not rob Him of them!

"For I know the plans I have for your declares the Lord. Plans for peace not evil, and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

On the contrary. I have in fact, spoken with many children from Africa. They see us (the Western world) as impoverished, and though they don't have all that they may like, they are surprisingly content.

ok fair enough. What are your thoughts on these ?Psalm 137.9, 1 Timothy 2:12, 1 Samuel 15:3, Jeremiah 19:9 thx

  • Theophilus F.

Psalm 137 - A general term of contempt requesting punishment against the nations that persecuted Israel. 1 Timothy - The Greek uses the word "wife" not "woman". A married woman has no business instructing her husband, or any other man. But a woman does instruct children, and nuns instruct catechumen men of mature age. 1 Samuel - Read first what Amalek did to Israel when they were weak and for the most part, defenseless. Jeremiah - A prophecy against Israel, intended to stir them to repentance. They could have prevented it, but continued to worship idols. Thus, that it did happen is their own fault. Is it your intent to use a few miscontextualized verses to prove that God is evil?

  • Pablo

1 Samuel still even if Amalek was evil to Israel. Why would a loving God kill innocent children? seems vengeful and unjust.

  • Theophilus F.

In ancient times, evil of the calibre of Amalek was considered to be bred into the race. At this point in Israel's history (read of the struggle with king Agag) complete annihilation of Amalek was seen as the only way of preserving Israel upon the earth. We have only a very small account of what occurred, but the battle between Amalek (with Amalek being the aggressor) raged for over 500 years. Amalek made no distinction between children, women and livestock of the Jews either.

I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time--waking and sleeping. It does not change God. It changes me. ~ C.S. Lewis

I may not be perfect but I'm always me - eu posso não ser perfeita, mas eu sou sempre eu mesma

Need to remember this-------it's hard to remember when you have your head slammed into a wall over and over during a long weekend away, by a drunk who's arrogant, narcissistic, and thinks a good life is drinking a 12 pack of beer and smoking a pack of cigs every day!!! Some GREAT life, huh???
