    Homemade Runzas. This is way more bread than I normally consume, so I tried to compensate by swapping out the ground beef for ground turkey breast. It lost a little something in translation, but its still a decent sandwich and reheats really really well! Next time I will try beef, and maybe sub in some different kinds of flour. ~300 calories/sandwich.

Homemade Runzas. Are Runza sandwiches really all that close to actual German food? The closest I found was flying home on Lufthansa, and they served us what seemed to be a delicious homemade Runza. Close enough for me!

Runzas - I just sent 20 homemade runzas with David back to OKC last week. He said he had 2 for dinner Thursday night.

Runza (Nebraska recipe) Notes from Lisa: these taste like the real deal, so good....made a double batch & froze for quick meals later. They are labor intensive & took over 3 hours to complete fom start to finish & I even had help from my hubby with the dough!

Homemade Blue cheese dressing - I love Bleu cheese dressing (I buy 'Marie's' or 'Naturally Fresh' and soften the taste of it it with mayo) on my spinach salad (w/sliced egg & mushrooms, garlic & butter croutons and real bacon pieces) - I make a "meal" out of it in a big bowl. It is absolutely delish!! :)

10-15-12 Runza!!!! Had my version of this for dinner tonight! I use ground turkey and cabbage and season it up with salt, pepper, garlic, onions and a pinch of cayenne (for a slight kick) for the filling. Bake it inside an easy bread recipe "hot-pocket" style for individual portions. Hubs makes a dip for it with mayo, mustard and garlic. YUM!!!
