DIY Laundry Detergent - My second attempt at DIY laundry detergent and couldn't be happier with this one. I included the two optional items (oxy clean and purex fabric softener crystals). Even though they are the most expensive thing in the recipe (around 9 bucks per item) it was still a huge money saver.

Definitely trying another DIY laundry detergent after my coupon stock of detergent runs out! Seems similar and only one other ingredient that I didn't use for my own homemade soap before, which is the fabric softener which I missed. Looks easy to make!

I'm hooked on making my own household cleaning products. Here's another laundry detergent "recipe". I like the addition of a smell-good ingredient.

DIY Laundry Detergent- 2012.07.11.Made my 1st batch and washed 2 loads of clothes. They look good, smell good too, so I'm pleased with the results. The cost is about 10 cents a load, about the cost of laundry soap in stores. I do like the small amount needed. I may eliminate the fabric softener when I make it next time which would cut the cost to about 7 cents per load. Vicky

DIY Laundry Detergent - 6 ingredients, cost you about $28 a year, this recipe makes a batch that will last a year! I use a similar ingredient list. Been using homemade laundry soap for a year. I also use white vinegar as my fabric softener. No it doesn't leave a smell

DIY Laundry Detergent- what I (Shana) find attractive about this particular recipe is that it uses whole boxes of ingredients, which is a time saver for measuring, etc. I'd skip the fabric softener addition but again mixing up a HUGE portion sounds so appealing. I <3 homemade laundry soap.

I made this today and am going to see how it works. Have made the gel type laundry soap before but this one sounded a lot simpler and like that it had oxyclean and fabric softener already in it. DIY Laundry Detergent- smells wonderful, leaves towels fluffier, and is very inexpensive. I;'ve pinned several recipes, but this one seems to be the one that makes the most sense. I'm going to try making this next weekend!
