Whats Cookin, Chicago?: FREEZER FRIENDLY / MAKE AHEAD MEALS Whenever my freezer is stuffed with ready-to-prepare meals, my grocery bills go down.... way down! I plan to buy ingredients at their least expensive, then cook in bulk. We eat healthier for less, and eating out becomes a TREAT rather than an expensive act of desperation!
Crockpot Freezer Meals. Such a good idea! And I love how there is a grocery list for EVERYTHING.. I do this with many of my veggies. pick of great deals at your local farmers market. I ask for the veggies they cannot sell, cut the bad spots out, of tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, celery. etc. I cut some Julienne style for stir frys and others chopped or diced for meat loaves, soups etc........
1 lb chicken breasts 1 packet Italian dressing mix 2 Tbsp butter 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup chicken stock egg noodles or rice Place chicken breasts, Italian dressing mix, butter, lemon juice & chicken broth in the crockpot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. When finished cooking, shred chicken with 2 forks. Serve chicken over egg noodles or rice and top with juices from crockpot.
