    Another fad youth series, but this one may actually be worth reading. It's dystopian fiction, and the fast pace keeps you interested. A little morbid and shocking, perhaps, but it's interesting that the inspiration for this series came from watching reality TV and news coverage of the war in Iraq. The reference to "bread and circuses" is also interesting. The books aren't focused on social commentary, but it's certainly there.
